Lemmon High School Graduation | Class of 2021

Lemmon Class of 2021
This year I was hired by a group of parents to cover the Lemmon Class of 2021 Graduation Ceremony and Formal Photos.
While that sounds simple, it wasn’t as easy to put together.
I had been hearing from parents and grads in the weeks leading up to graduation that many of them wanted photos. I wasn’t sure how to cover the event and make it profitable for my business. Who pays me to work? Do I charge for photos after the event or ask for a fee to cover the event? I wasn’t really sure. Lemmon High School? No, they already have an event photographer. The graduates? Some of them are under the age of 18, so they can’t sign my contract anyway. That leaves the parents.
Around the time I came to this conclusion, I ran into a parent at the Wild Oats Grand Opening event. She asked my status on graduation and I let her know my prices and my thoughts. Before I even finished my mini sales pitch she said she would cover the entire cost of the event if no one else would. I was so thankful, I was offically hired for the event! I let her know that I would reach out to those that had messaged me previously to see if they wanted in on photos as well and everyone could split the cost. I believe we ended up with a group of about nine or ten.
My aim was to photograph the entire class but take extra care to photograph the families on my client list. This was my second time photographing a Lemmon High School Graduation, so I was familiar with the tradtions of the ceremony.
