Landon & Tiffany | Abraham Lincoln State Park Engagement Session

The January North Dakota weather was ideal for Landon and Tiffany’s engagement session. They were hoping for snow and ideally not too cold. Well, there was a fresh coat of powder on the ground and it was a balmy 20-35F day. 

We chose to showcase the snow in their background with these ultra wide images. I asked the couple to do a few lifts and they were naturals! I can’t wait to photograph & film this duo on their wedding day. 

Occasionally a gust of wind would shake free snow sitting on nearby trees. This was an awesome effect for photos!

The park has a fireplace on the side of a hill that was covered in snow. Before the session began, I shoveled the snow away and hauled firewood up to the fireplace.

Tiffany and Landon brought a bunch of blankets, wine, and the fixings for s’mores. They stoked up and cuddled next to a warm fire. The fire was a nice relief from the cold. They toasted with wine from a winery from back home. 

S’mores are one of my favorite fire traditions! We talked about using different chocolate treats in lue of chocolate. Landon mentioned Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and I was thinking of Heath Chocolate. Do you have a favorite S’mores chocolate replacement?
