Alec O'Donnell: Class of 2020
Alec’s Senior picture blog is far overdue.
I think part of the reason I don’t put blogs up all the time is my fear of writing about other people that I barely know.
Alec and I have met (obviously, I took his senior pictures) but we aren’t close friends. I don’t rub shoulders with him or his family every day. I don’t have kids that look up to him. We are not involved in the same activities. But I’ve rubbed shoulders with a few people that have been impacted by Alec and the rest of the Lemmon Cowboys football team. I’ll let their words speak for Alec (and his teammates, of course!)
Kim Anderson wrote in a Facebook post on November 8th:
I am still trying to find words for our boys of fall. The drive, perseverance, and support of your teammates that you've shown us on the field means more than you realize right now.
I'm raising a couple of kids who happen to love this game. For one of them, football is life. He has watched you for years and talks about you like family members. He knows your plays, your positions and your routes. He studies your work. He celebrates your victories and dissects the busted plays. You high fived him on the sideline tonight. You hugged him after the game. He didn't know what to say to you in that moment after the last game of the season. Most of us didn't. So let me just say thanks.
Thanks for showing up and working hard. Thanks for giving us a reason to drive across the state and stand in line for hot chocolate, then scream until we're hoarse. Thanks for high fives and photo ops and pats on the head. We're proud of you. Go Cowboys!
Miranda Benson wrote in a Facebook post on November 8th:
What a weekend… I am so proud of all the players and coaches on an outstanding season. Everyone talks about how well these boys play or how talented they are at the sport, all of which are true, but I’d like to point out their incredible character. I’ve been fortunate enough to witness these boys take the time to play catch with my kids, to always say hi, call them by name, and high five them, to let our seven year old sit in the back of the bus with them, show respect to coaches and other adults, to handle a tough loss including terrible ref calls all with class. These boys and their coaches make the entire community so proud!!
In the short time that I spent with Alec, I can tell he was probably leading his friends to high-five the little ones.
Class of 2021: you have big shoes to fill.

PS: I wanted to give ya’ll a look inside Alec’s session (the planning and everything). We wanted to highlight Alec’s current sports, his hometown roots, and charismatic personality. Basketball, Football, the Keldron town sign (King of Keldron!), the family farmyard, signs for Alec and his younger brother J.P. (Go Kayla for making those!), and the old grain elevator were all on our list. Alec’s mother chose to add a mini family session at the end of Alec’s senior session. That was a great way to get updated family portraits and not pay an entire session fee.
