Live At The Lake | Eclectic Wreck

I’ve been digging through my 2020 archives and came across this set of photos from Live At The Lake this August put on by the Placemakers Co-Op.
I remember this day so clearly. It was warm & balmy with a strong wind. This was one of the first nights I felt the season changing from summer to fall.
Eclectic Wreck sang into sock covered microphones to compensate for the wind whistling into their sound system. Singer, bass player & accordion extraordinaire Judy Larson enjoyed a glass of home brewed kombucha throughout the evening. Her husband and fellow band member, Todd played the guitar and the vocals as well! Mason Dauwen jammed out the whole time on his electronic drum set while Bruce Kimmes made sure everything sounded just right.

This night was a rare treat for me. A few of my girlfriends + their crew came out for the festivities and it was so good to see everyone. It felt like forever since we all got together for something. I think the next time we got together was Halloween!!
Olivia brought Harper and Jude. Our little photoshoot involved the duo eating a mandarin orange and staring at me with their big, brown eyes. Kim was just about to have Ivy- she certainly has that pregnancy glow about her! Andrea was not far behind her and brought Lydian and Lyndon. We got a special guest appearance: Spider Man!!

It was good to see neighbors and community members out and about. A few groups chose to isolate themselves and others chose to mingle. Everyone got to listen to a sweet set of songs.

I love the last minutes of Live At The Lake. The sun sets and the temperature starts to drop. The darkening sky lets the moon shine.

I’m glad we don’t do this in September. I think it would be too cold for me at the end of the night.

Thank you to everyone that worked to make Live at the Lake happen. Its an event I look forward to every year!
Thank you to Eclectic Wreck for performing!
