Late Summer Senior Portrait Session | MEGAN NEHL | Lemmon, South Dakota
Local Senior Portrait Photographer: Brittany Schnell
Megan has started her senior year at Lemmon High School and it’s time for senior photos. She had a handful of fantastic photo ideas incorporating sunflowers, her Cadillac, her love for reading & her summer job as a lifeguard.
Sunflowers
It’s no secret to everyone by now that I love sunflowers. Megan loves them just as much, so I was extremely excited when she told me she wanted them in her photos. We’ve been planning her senior session for months!
The wait was totally worth it. The bright blooms pair well with Megan’s black and white outfit.
Props
Megan’s prop ideas were straightforward: her Cadillac, a few suitcases, a chair and books- Megan loves books.
Props are amazing for senior sessions because it gives the senior something to do with her hands. We choose locations that went well with Megan’s outfits and props. (Bonus points for choosing a dirt road & oat field with sunflowers in the background!)
Tank Hill Park
Easily one of my favorite places in town to take pictures: Tank Hill Park. Megan had an extra outfit, so we popped in this extra location. I’m a big fan of all the green foliage!
Lifeguard
Megan is a lifeguard and we thought it would be a wonderful idea to snap a few photos next to the pool. These are actually some of my favorite images from the day because of all the blue.
Blue is my favorite color- phthalocyanine blue to be exact.
And with all the water, fence and sky- ugh it’s so blue! All the blue helps Megan pop in red!
We added one of Megan’s books since she like to read on her break.
Megan and I hatched a plan with the rest of the senior lifeguards to get together at the end of Megan’s session. I will be sharing those photos with you in its own blog post tomorrow!
Thank you to Megan for trusting me with your senior pictures. It’s an honor!
