One of my favorite things about summer is family photos.
Family photos help bring everyone together. The Mahers, which have grown kids out of the house- know this better than anyone.

We linked up for photos at Shadehill at the beginning of the month. Our plan was to start at the spillway buttttt I took a wrong turn that led us down this gorgeous gravel road with a field of clover. That’s where our photos started. Getting lost in these parts can be a good thing! ;)

Mommy & Me

I had a list of photos to take. At the top were a few group portraits of the entire family together- I wanted a few different options for Sarah to frame. Next is individual portraits of everyone, preferably in two different locations. Finally, groups of boys, girls, close siblings, opposite siblings, young & old siblings- any groups the family wanted to take (my basics are boys & girls!)
Can we stop for a moment and take a moment to be in awe of the South Dakota landscape? It’s gorgeous.

Ember just recently celebrated her 1 year birthday, so she got a little outfit change. The little cutie loved exploring the flowers, road & beach.
