Fall family photos with the Melton’s were a blast! Their session kicked off at Tank Hill Park, one of my favorite locations in Lemmon to take pictures.

Props

Daisie picked up a bunch of little pumpkins and a picnic blanket that were perfect for their session. The kids loved the pumpkins- well, mostly- Everly loved to chew on the pumpkins. Everly also enjoyed the picnic blanket because she didn’t like the feeling of her bare feet in the grass.

Location

We had three stops on our list: Tank Hill Park, a harvested field, and the Schnell Ranch. The whole time we battled extreme winds from the north.

Tank Hill is one of my favorite places in Lemmon to take photos in the evening. I love the look of the sun peaking through the trees from the west, the well kept grass and gorgeous trees make this a prime location for photos.

The field that we stopped by is this gorgeous light tan color, which is perfect for fall family photos. I wish I knew what was growing in this pasture before we came here. If I had to guess, I would say some sort of wheat, oats or maybe millet. If anyone knows what was growing here, let me know!

The Schnell Ranch, our final destination, has many photo locations. I’m sure a decade from now I will still be discovering new photo locations! We chose a spot on the river bank with a cliff to our back to shield the wind.

Style

Everything really comes together with Daisie’s styling. She chose a color palette and started searching for outfits more than a month before their session. She found pieces that are comfortable and stylish.

I think the most important thing about styling is the color palette. When all the colors are harmonious, the entire group looks great together.
