Chance & Sierra | 9.12.2020 | Western Wedding
Wedding Photographer: Brittany Schnell
I’m so excited for this blog post because I get to share Chance and Sierra’s wedding gallery and ceremony video with you.
Location: Western Dream
The duo traded vows at a pop up ceremony location on their land. By strategically placing round and square hay bales, the couple created their own outdoor chapel. I love all the little touches including the custom designed windows, classic tables, and throw blankets for people to sit on.

Flowers: Foraged & Raised (mostly)
Their flowers and greenery (excluding the sunflowers and Gerber daisies) were all grown or foraged in the local area. I’m loving all the deep tones in the floral arrangements!

The pair got ready with their wedding party. Chance chose a leather vest, boots, and tie- topped off with a Gerber daisie boutonnière. Sierra opted for a gorgeous wedding gown with a beaded bodice and layered tulle skirt, a pair of comfortable & reliable wedge sandals, and a crystal trimmed veil.

First Look
Due to wet grass, the couple had their first look on the edge of their venue’s parking lot. While not my first choice for location, I know the two wouldn’t have had it any other way. They were there, in that moment together- seeing each other for the first time.

Good Times! Party Bus
We road this sweet party bus. Once a school bus, the party bus has plenty of room, air circulation and a big sound system- three things I look for in a party bus! Riding in the back brought back memories of team road trips in my old school bus.

Ceremony
Chance and Sierra have a grandma that couldn’t make it to the wedding, so I offered to film their wedding ceremony for her. I personally have little experience with video, but I’m trying to learn! I’ve learned a lot just making this short film for the couple!
Thankfully, I don’t need to master videographer before offering it as a service because my team is growing. I will be introductions you all to my newest team member, a videographer very soon! He is very talented- keep an eye out for other big team changes!
With silent shooting mode activated on my camera, I can move around the ceremony and take a thousand photos without making a sound. I love all the different angles that an outdoor wedding provides!!

Photo Opp & Champagne Pop
On the way to the reception, Chance and Sierra stopped at the dock for a photo opportunity and a Champagne pop. The water was gorgeous and Champaign tasty!

Five Minute Photo Challenge
The couple chose to participate in the Five Minute Photo Challenge: a game I like to play created by Jeff with Complete Weddings and Events Sioux Falls.
Here’s the general idea. Chance and Sierra were challenged by me to take a picture with each of their wedding guests in five minutes. (Spoiler alert! They did it!) The guests were in groups (the tables they were sitting at) they got up and waited for us to come around and take their picture. Once their photo was taken, they sat down. We ended at the head table with just a few seconds remaining on the clock.

Toasts & Cake Cutting
After a dinner of delicious taco, nachos & burritos, speeches began. The couple heard from friends and family their value and importance. The were reminded about the things they are great at and some goofy stories too. My favorite line from the speeches was
“I’ve never known Sierra without Chance and now I never will have to.”
Cake cutting was fun and got a little messy.

Wedding Dance
First dances were special with the couple and their parents. Then the dance floor opened up for the whole room. Dancing is one of my favorite parts about country weddings. I love the partner dances, line dances and ‘we’ve been drinking too much’ dances. The celebration continued for hours!
I want to say a big THANK YOU to Chance and Sierra for trusting me with their wedding day. It was such an honor to serve them, their friends & family. A super big thank you to McKenzie Patton for putting Sierra & I in touch and giving me a place to stay on their wedding night.
