I’m so excited to be sharing the Timber Lake High School Class of 2021 graduation ceremony with you. I was invited by the class to photograph individual, group and class photos at Little Moreau and the Graduation Ceremony at the Timber Lake High School.

However, it started raining in Timber Lake the day before and still had not let up. We decided that Little Moreau was not an option. We were all thankful for the rain and more than happy to meet at the High School instead.

We took individual and a few group photos by the lockers before the graduation ceremony. I chose to use all artificial lighting to completely control the lighting situation. My lights were so strong that I chose to shoot at F/5.6. For those that are not familiar with F-stops, this means more of the photo was in focus than what I normally shoot (f/1.4-2.8). I’m in love with the look it gave me. The graduates are 100% in focus- giving the portraits a high fashion look.

There are two Brittanyography Seniors in the Timber Lake Class of 2021: Stormi & Alyssa. It was so good to see these two women at the end of their high school chapter.

This was my first time attending a Timber Lake Graduation Ceremony, and my first time seeing Indigenous Feathers, Beadwork and Star Quilts. I loved them all! They were colorful, hand crafted and thought through. I loved the small details on the quilts and learned that the feathers were never to touch the ground. If anyone would like to share more with me about Indigenous feathers, beadwork or quilts- I am all ears!!

I made a new photo friend- Robert, who is the journalist, photographer and owner of the Timber Lake Topic. I love meeting photographers in the wild!! It’s fun to talk about photo gear, marketing techniques and all that comes with operating a small business. Robert live streamed the graduation on a stabilizer with auxiliary microphone equipment. He impressively also photographed many elements of the ceremony- now that’s multi tasking!!

Timber Lake Class of 2021, Thank you for inviting me to Timber Lake for your Graduation!! I hope to be back again!
