Danny Savage | Live at the Lake | Event Photo & Video Coverage

Danny Savage of the MoonCats | South Dakota Event Photographer - Brittany Schnell

Live at the Lake is one of my favorite events put on by the Placemakers Co-Op. It’s free, live music at Shadehill Lake every Saturday of the month of August from 6-8 PM. The music, provided by local artists, setting sun, and community make for an unforgettable evening.

I love seeing families, couples, and friends together - enjoying a drink and music. At one time, I went around the entire area and photographed every person- I wish I would do this more often!! It was fun and slightly uncomfortable.

Danny really is a Savage with his musical talent. His one-man music show featured many different instruments, including a kick drum on his right foot, a tambourine wrapped around his left, a guitar or Ukejo in hand, AND a kazoo or harmonica for in between the chorus and verse. One man bands blow my mind.

Danny, YOU ARE TALENTED!!

Although frankly, I doubt Danny exited the womb being able to play four instruments and sing simultaneously. He has worked hard for years to perfect his craft and based on his Instagram, he is always working on it!

Do you know what else takes practice? Hulu hooping. Lydia Davis of Bismarck, North Dakota showed off her skills with a variety of hoops. I hope to connect with her again when I have my hoop! I’m but a humble grasshopper to the master.

Thank you, Lydia, for adding to the entertainment for the evening <3

Danny is a musician from Beulah, North Dakota who plays the Ukejo for the MoonCats. If you would like to book Danny for your next event, reach out to him at dharildstad@gmail.com
